This Skill Set contains training in: Medication Management for Methoxyflurane, Training in Administration of Emergency Fluids via Intraosseous Cannulation and Training in Insertion of Needle Decompression. This non accredited training is specific for Sarin Group staff, as an addition to the HLTAID013 Provide first aid in Remote/Isolate Site qualification.

Training and assessment is to be conducted by a Paramedic.  

The training will allow the participants to become competent to perform the task of IO, Needle Decompression and administration of Methoxyflurane.   The participant is able to perform the critical response skills only according to the Sarin Group Policy and authorised by a Medical Officer.

P00452 - Critical Response Skill Set; IO, Needle Decompression and Methoxyflurane

Course Delivery

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course Durations

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 3 Hours

Participants are employed by Sarin Group and hold a current prerequisite HLTAID013 Provide first aid in Remote/Isolate Site. 

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 12 months

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
